3.8 Security
Is Salt secure?
Yes, Salt is highly secure. We use industry-standard encryption to protect your private keys. They are encrypted using one of the strongest encryption standards available, AES256, ensuring that no one, including us, can access them. Your private keys are never stored on our servers, databases, or website.
In short, we have no access to your private keys. By prioritizing user security with AES256 encryption, we ensure that all data exchanged between users and bots remains confidential and protected from potential breaches.
How are private keys stored?
Private keys are encrypted at-rest and in-transit using industry standard symmetric key encryption/decryption.
Private keys are not stored in our servers, databases, etc.
How do I use the Salt wallet?
The trading wallet automatically generated by Salt should always be treated as a hot wallet, similar to those on centralized exchanges (CEX).
Only store assets that you are actively trading with.
Do not import your personal wallet into Salt unless you have a very clear reason to do so.
Periodically regenerate new wallets.
However, unlike CEXs, a key advantage of Salt is that users can export the private keys of their Salt-generated trading wallets. You can import these keys into a wallet of your choice and maintain complete control over your assets at any time.
How does Salt securely access private keys?
Salt introduces an innovative approach to securely access private keys. Salt utilizes WebApp to create self-destructive sessions that allow users to access their private keys while maintaining maximum security.
With 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication), even if someone gains access to your credentials, they cannot proceed without the second authentication step. This robust protection further safeguards your private keys and valuable assets.
These sessions are designed to prioritize your privacy. No data is stored in Salt's database or Telegram's chat logs.
Important Notice: Private keys are crucial for managing your funds. Please keep the following points in mind:
Exposing your private key places full responsibility for your funds on you.
Handle your private keys with extreme care.
